Disable Bing Search on the Start Menu

If I wanted to do an Internet search, I’d launch a browser.
The Start menu is no place to conduct a web search.

It adds unneccesary latency to the menu - and if you’re like me, I typically type to quickly find an application I want to run.
The number of times I have tried to launch an app and had some random website open within Edge has happened far too many times…

Fortunately there is a registry key you can add to your current user’s configuration to disable the Bing search function. Once you set this, the bing search will be disabled from the Start Menu.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
"BingSearchEnabled"=dword:00000000
