There is a new model to enable enhanced password encryption on Cisco devices.

You may see a new notification that “type 0 passwords will soon be deprecated”.

This is a soft error currently, but essentially you need to enable AES password encryption:

key config-key password-encrypt STRONGPASSWORDHERE
password encryption aes

After this command is entered, the type 0 password warning will go away.
